Who We Are

4-H is a leader in creative learning experiences where youth build a true sense of self-esteem and can discover positive futures through hands-on experiential learning. 4-H youth will become competent and contributing members of a global society through life skill development. We believe that community volunteers are a vital key to 4-H success and that the continuous development of Head, Heart, Hands, and Health will help youth achieve their full potential. We believe in teamwork to achieve these objectives, that education through discovery will make learning a lifelong activity, and that developing leadership in youth makes for a better tomorrow for everyone. 4-H is open to all youth in Lee County between the ages of 5 and 18. There are a number of ways that a young person can participate in 4-H including: Public Speaking, Leadership, Summer Fun Programs, Camps, School Enrichment, 4-H Clubs, and much more!

What We Do

4-H is one of the oldest, largest and most recognized youth deleopment organizations in the United States. Through 4-H, hundreds of thousands of North Carolina’s young people learn new skills and serve their communities each year. 4-H offers a variety of ways that young people can get involved in their communities and learn the skills they need to create a successful future. Guided by North Carolina Cooperative Extension educators and adult volunteers, 4-H’ers gain knowledge, skills and experience that help them become responsible citizens and leaders for today and tomorrow.
